Context

Highlife dance bands gave way to Afrobeat repetition and call and response at the Shrine. Cassettes, Alaba mixes and radio carried it further than any label plan.

Idea

Every hit samples an elder. We link each track to what it borrowed, drums first, so young producers can hear the thread and credit it.

Shrine setlist

Fela era arrangements broken into horn lines, bass cycles and chant sheets for study, not streaming.

Sister harmonies

Lijadu Sisters intervals transcribed so singers can learn the seconds that make it sweet.

Alaba lineage

Street mixtape covers and tracklists kept as designed, spelling quirks intact.

Outcome

Launch set maps 48 sample links from 1970s grooves to current Afrobeats records, all credited for learning.
